** memo : Autoclave for 15 minutes at 121℃. Sterilize Fe(NH_4_) citrate (0.05 g in 20 ml H_2_O) separetely and then add to the medium.
For chemolithotrophic growth incubate the culture under an atmospere of 2 % (v/v) O_2_, 10 % CO_2_, 60 % H_2_ and 28 % N_2_.
For heterotrophic growth supplement the mineral medium with an appropriate carbon source (0.2% (w/v) carbohydate or 0.1% (v/v) organic acid). For growth on nitrogen-free medium, omit NH_4_Cl and incubate the culture under an atmosphere of 2 % (v/v) O_2_, 10 % CO_2_, 10 % H_2_ and 78 % N_2_ or heterotrophically under 2 % (v/v) O_2_ and 98 % N_2_ nitrogen.
